The History of The Antiques Appraiser

Claudia G. Miller started appraising in 1969 and Secured Inventories LLC in 1986 because she saw the need to give the general public knowledge and value of their personal property.  Claudia had been traveling for years all over the country appraising and selling for National Content Liquidators Incorporated.

NCL was the brainchild of her entrepreneur father Clem Long, who built the company with Claudia and their family.  Mr. Long saw the need to give his clients an alternative to the auction method of marketing.  Together they transformed the tag sale/garage sale idea into the giant industry of nationwide liquidation.

The occurrence of clients needing to know the value and authenticity of their antiques continued and like her father, Mrs. Miller saw the opportunity to build on that need.

When you hire Claudia, you are getting the best valuation expert in the industry because she brings experience, knowledge of the market, education, credentials and a solid reputation to your project. She will deliver independent valuations that assure your property is given a correct market analysis and valuation.

When hiring a professional appraiser you should not expect them to buy from or sell for you because that would be a conflict of interest. Why would you call a dealer or an auctioneer to request the value of your antiques when you intend to turn around and sell it to them?  You should expect an accurate flat rate charge based on the work to be accomplished and not the total value of the inventory.

In recognition of the public's need for professional appraisers Claudia G. Miller has tested to achieve accreditation with the American Society of Appraisers and certification from the Appraisers Association of America.

Personal property is tangible, movable property that is utilitarian, collectible, decorative, or a combination of the three.  Since 1986 The Antiques Appraiser has ensured ethical practices and procedures on every project.  As a personal property appraiser Mrs. Miller has the specialized knowledge achieved through academic study and practical experience to competently render appraisals for specific purposes, such as:

Insurance
Sales Consulting
Estate tax
Dissolution of marriage
Donation
Equitable distribution
